A very simple thirst, quenching recipe. The sugar quantity can be furthered reduced if desired.
Ingredients x 6
300 g granulated sugar
250 ml cold water and an additional 1.5lt to serve
8 medium lemons (juiced)
In a small saucepan, combine 250 ml water with the sugar. Place over medium heat and bring just to
a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room
temperature. Cover and refrigerate until ready serving. Squeeze lemons and add to the 1.5lt of
water and sugar syrup, stir and serve in tall chilled glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and sprigs of
mint or rosemary
